Cucumber Cottage, Sandwich

Sandwich is full of lanes with quirky names such as Pondicherry Alley and Knighrider Street, each packed with an interesting mix of grand houses, pubs and humble cottages, Georgian and older. In the street leading to the Fisher Gate we spotted this little passageway leading to “Cucumber Cottage”. What a great name. If only more people made this kind of effort. It’s nothing complicated but shows that even the smallest space can be transformed by a few plants and flowers.
