Opening our seaside garden for the second time we were not sure what to expect, but the sun shone and the visitors came, and came, and came. In the space of four hours we welcomed over 120 lovely people, from as near as the next street and as far as Newark in Nottinghamshire. Our new ‘tea garden’ at No. 3 went down a storm with lemon loaf and Alexs’ Archers seed cake selling out. There’s more in the oven tonight. I talked plants for four hours solid, which is my idea of heaven.
The garden will be open again tomorrow from 12-4pm so come and join us!
It was great to hear how many visitors read this blog so this post is dedicated to all of you who visited today.

Visitors, cakes, gorgeous plants, and you to give the tour of your garden and plant information – now that’s a day. 🙂
I wish I was there. Can I have Alex”s lemon cake recipe please. I will bake it and imagine I am visiting your garden.
The lemon cakes were my favourites – we had lemon cups, lemon drizzle and lemon cream sandwich. Needless to say I had to try them all!
Sorry I’m too far away to pop over for a tour and some of your delicious cakes. You obviously had a triumphal day!
You’d be more than welcome any time. We’ll be eating up the cakes for a little while. I don’t know how I shall cope 😉
What a noble sacrifice. Sorry not even the delights of your garden and delicious cakes could tempt me south.
Sounds like all worked out well. Congratulations, I’m sure everyone enjoyed their visit. The photos show how beautiful your garden looked for the day. Well done. I know it was a lot of work. Wish I could have been there.
Thanks Dean. We had a fabulous weekend and the bonus is that I hardly need to do anything other than water and enjoy the garden this week!
