O Tannenbaum!

I promised a picture of our Christmas tree so, here it is in all its glory.  It took over 2 hours to weave on the 1500 lights and about the same again to hang the decorations.  Each one holds memories of places visited or gifts cherished. For the topmost baubles we needed a ladder and a 6ft garden cane.  The poor fairy looks rather unstable but she’s stuck up there now.  I hope not to find her prostrate on the floorboards in the morning.  Merry Christmas one and all!

  1. “Wie grun sind deine Blatter!” – and bright too! Very beautiful, gets me in the mood to decorate our small Norfolk fir. A very Merry Christmas to all! (and pardon my German)

  2. It sure is a perfect traditional Tannenbaum and takes me back to the Christmas when I was six, which we spent with cousins who celebrated a traditional German Xmas even though they were 2nd and 3rd generation South Africans. (I still have the remnants of that present over 50 years later: a complete set of Corgi Toys’ “Chippendale Circus” – truck with crane for setting up the big top, a land rover and two wagons with the animals.)
A wonderful festive season to you and yours, Don! Jack
