This time last year I was already in the Olympic stadium, watching the warm up for the opening ceremony. Unlike today, the skies were a brooding grey, shedding the odd few spots of rain. The world shared in the spectacular and moving event that was to follow. London 2012 may be in the past, but it’s not forgotten. When the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park reopens this weekend I hope visitors are still able to enjoy the beautiful display of prairie flowers we were greeted with just one year ago.
