A Feast of Foliage

Whether it’s the sun, too much water or too much food I don’t know, but the garden in going nuts at the moment. The foliage is coming so fast that even the snails can’t keep up. The leaf-cutter bees think it’s Christmas and are busy sawing out neat little notches to furnish their solitary nests. Having had Rosa banksiae for starters and my newly planted wisteria for their main, they are now tucking into my fuchsias for dessert. Now all we need is a few more flowers …. or will the bees think they’re petit fours?

  1. I like your Wisteria! I got some mini Fuschias this year. They only grow to 12 inches, and they supposedly bloom all summer. They are 7 inches now in mid-July, and still blooming their little heads off in my window boxes.
