I suspected it may be among my favourite show gardens, and it is. Not least because, unlike some of its peers, most of the flowers are in full bloom in spite of the chill weather. Designed by Michael Balston and Marie-Louise Agius, the garden celebrates the creation of East Village, the first neighbourhood to emerge from the legacy of London 2012. Full report coming soon……

Do you by chance know what the lovely white flower in the lower right corner is?
Mais Oui! It’s Zantedeschia aethiopica, or calla lily from South Africa. Grows well in our garden in the dry, but also happy in damp soil.
