Fragrant, white-flowered Clematis armandii is one plant I am really missing from my garden this spring. Not because it’s died, but because it’s decided our neighbour’s garden is much more fun. A vigorous evergreen climber, Clematis armandii likes to wander. It’s already made it to London from China; who knows where it might go next? Pictured here at Saltwood Castle, Kent.

It is super, but it can grow very big and get leggy at the base. I’ll sort it out with plant passport and a one way ticket ;-).
