Daily Flower Candy: Tulips ‘Purissima’ and ‘Orange Emperor’

Reading time 1 minute

Every year I experiment with tulips in different colour combinations. Last year it was fiery orange ‘Princesse Irene’ and inky purple ‘Recreado’, this year it’s creamy white ‘Purissima’ and neon ‘Orange Emperor’. Although late, the tulips are superb this season and will soon be followed by elegant ‘Ballerina’ and ‘White Triumphator’.

    1. I am guessing perhaps it is too warm in the winter for them there? They like a really cold winter (stops the bulbs getting diseased) followed by a warm, sunny spring. Mine are still going, with some of the late flowered ones still in bud
