It is now just over three weeks since I started this blog, and so far it’s been a great experience. I hoped it might encourage me to share my love of plants, gardens and gardening. That has certainly happened, and I am so grateful to those who have already started to follow my amateurish musings. Please bear with me as I find my feet.
I’m relieved to find that I have no shortage of things to post up. In fact, writing this blog has given me new motivation to get out and visit wonderful gardens so that I can share them here. On Saturday I am planning to visit that great mecca for garden lovers – Sissinghurst Castle in Kent and next week I’m off to Hampton Court Flower show. I doubt I’d have found the time to do either a month ago and I’m enjoying the sense of balance this brings between work and leisure time. The former so often smothers the latter, like a rampant Russian vine. I am also turning once again to those reference books which so often languish on the shelves, to ensure I get my plant names right. Perversely it’s the common names I always forget and the latin names which seem to come naturally. But I am also learning again, which is so refreshing. So thank you to my first followers. I hope there will be many more one day, but for now I am a very happy and slightly less frustrated gardener!
Dear frustrated gardener, started to follow your blog and what can I say – I enjoy it …and I appreciate the mixture between botanic facts and some garden stories …..Living in a climate quite different from yours (northern Italy, Lago maggiore) and being surrounded by beautiful gardens it is nice to read about gardens in England and to be inspired for my own one.
